• Favorite part about H&P – I thoroughly enjoy my co-workers.  We share a lot of laughs with one another.  This is very important given the fact we spend an incredible amount  of time with each other the first 4 months of each year.
• Favorite accounting task – My favorite accounting tasks include business related income tax preparation and individual income tax planning.
• Hobbies – I do not really have any hobbies, but I do enjoy re-decorating my house and spending time with friends and family.  My absolute favorite thing to do is to sit on any beach, anywhere, anytime.
• Favorite musician & movie or TV show – I have recently found a love for country music.  I am going to have to eat my words on this because I used to make fun of people who listen to country music, but not anymore.  Maybe it is an age thing, I do not know.  Since I have 3 school-aged children who are in a myriad of sports, I do not spend a lot of time watching television, but I definitely enjoy catching an occasional rerun of Seinfeld, That 70’s Show, or Friends.  I also enjoy The Office, but sometimes Michael Scott makes me feel so uncomfortable I cannot even watch it.
• Best piece of advice given to you  -  Take responsibility for errors even if it is not directly your fault.  You will be respected for it in the long run.  Secondly, tackle the most daunting tasks first.  Otherwise they tend to follow you around like a black cloud.
• Personal – I have been married for 25 years (in October) to Wayne and we have 3 children, Kyle 16, Cameron 15, and Makenna 12.  They require a lot of mileage, literally and figuratively, but I try to cherish it all as even though the days are sometimes slow, the years are going way too fast.

November 2017: Penny Buchmueller joined Holt & Patterson in 2012 and will be celebrating her five year anniversary with the firm in November 2017 as Senior Manager. As Senior Manager, Penny performs a variety of tasks including tax return preparation, compilations, reviews and audits. She graduated from University Missouri-Columbia with her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree.

Outside of work, Penny enjoys gardening, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. The best piece of advice she has been given is to “treat everyone with respect.”

Penny’s favorite thing about working at Holt & Patterson is developing a close relationship with clients, and laughing with her coworkers.

June 2017: Audrey Thies joined Holt & Patterson in 2002 and will be celebrating her fifteen year anniversary with the firm in July 2017 as a valued Senior Accountant. She graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and Management, with a minor in Marketing.

In addition to being a great employee, she is a woman of many hobbies. In her spare time she enjoys: skydiving, scuba diving, hiking, traveling, and playing with her dog Queenie.

Audrey says her favorite thing about working at H&P is the variety of work she gets to do and the strong relationships she builds with clients and coworkers.

December 2016: Lauren Kennedy joined Holt & Patterson in 2011 as an intern while attending Saint Louis University. She spent her free time and summers in the office performing tasks ranging from filing, to bookkeeping and assisting clients. Upon graduating she joined Holt & Patterson full time and assists in the payroll department.  Her favorite part about working at the firm is talking to clients and coworkers. 

June 2015: Holt & Patterson, LLC recently celebrated Jennifer’s ten year anniversary as a most valuable Senior Accountant. Upon graduating from Maryville University in December of 2005, she became a full time staff accountant and the Firm has benefited ever since.  Jennifer is relied upon heavily to provide superb accounting and tax assistance to a large number of diverse client’s. She also heads up the Firm’s Sales and Use Tax and Personal Property Tax areas.

What type of work do you enjoy the most? “My favorite type of work I enjoy the most is corporate tax.”

When she is at her home in Festus, this busy mother of two enjoys spending quality time with her family watching movies and going to her son’s baseball tournaments.       

What is your favorite music performer and genre? “If I had to choose one type of music it would be Country and my favorite performer is Jason Aldean.”

When you have the time, what is your favorite television show? “I do not watch television very often, but my favorite show is Law & Order: SVU.”
